19th Century American Empire Style Miniature Step-Up Chest of Drawers
19th century American Empire style miniature step-up chest of Drawers, circa 1850. With cherry top and mahogany veneer drawer fronts. Featuring a slightly overhanging top with a top concave drawer supported by s-scroll shaped pillars atop c-scroll feet. Pillars flank two Lower drawers with wooden knobs. Two smaller drawers grace the step-up top section. Stamped “Manufactured by M. Watrous, Andover Conn” on back, possibly for Mahlon Watrous (1822-1893) of Andover, CT. Likely a salesman sample. Dimensions: 9 × 9 1/2 × 6 inches.
