Note: Arthur Webster Emerson was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He studied art at Stanford University and later at Columbia University. A member of the Art Students League, Emerson exhibited with success throughout the United States including at the Society of Independent Artists (1917-1921, 1930) Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts, the American Watercolor Society (1918) and the Honolulu Academy of Fine Arts.
