Note: Kallem, an abstract expressionist born in Philadelphia, maintained a studio in New York and associated with a group of modernists who called themselves ‘the 28th Street Group of Modernists.’ He received his art training at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the National Academy of Design in New York City. His work can be found in the Corcoran Galleries, Washington, as well as many private collections. Kallem maintained a summer home in Monhegan Island, Maine, a popular destination for artists.
